The Seven Magic Questions

Hi Team,

We had loads of fun at the Lagoni conference Sunday morning watching Rick Seymour skillfully role play “The Seven Magic Questions” and he picked our very own Young Park as his first prospect. Asking open ended questions is one of the most important skills to develop so I will pass along Rick’s advise to just try it out as often as you can whether or not you ask the last question. So with no further delays here they are.

What do you do?

How long have you been doing that? Or how long have you been there?

What do you like about it?

What don’t you like about it? Is there a downside to it? Tell me about it.

Where do you want to be in 5-10 years?

What are you doing to get there? Or what are you doing to make that happen? Or is what you are currently doing going to get you to your goal?

Are yo open to looking at options? Or Are you open to evaluating some options to make that happen?

I have tried something similar out in public and it is amazing what you will find out. I don’t always make it to the last question, but it is fun to practice and see how long you can engage someone in a conversation.
